Welcome to the Tiger Family! Excitement fills the air as we reflect on so many positive experiences that we shared during our last school year and as we look forward to the new opportunities for growth that face us in the current school year. Ashley Chapel Educational Center is an alternative school where positive, caring relationships are at the core of all that we do. I have worked in education for over 22 years as a teacher assistant, teacher, counselor, and administrator, and I have never felt more pride and fulfillment than when I began working in alternative education 11 years ago. Alternative education does not mean less of an education. Instead, it means that students who have historically been less successful at the traditional middle or high school can receive a more individualized school experience with the goal of learning skills to help them overcome obstacles that have previously hindered their school success. Once students begin to feel “Tiger Love”, they begin to see themselves in a more positive light and realize that anything is possible. I look forward to the great things that will happen on our campus as school staff, students, families, and community members join forces to help spread the “Tiger Love”.
